Dolley   Madison   During the Pandemic

HOLIDAY TRADITIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC
Decorating the house, inside and out, baking, creating and gifting  make our days bright. Send in your holiday ideas and photos. Member, Mary Lew Sponksi, shared a new tradition for the pandemic - In our family Christmas stockings filled with multiple small items [all of which are wrapped individually!] are the highlight. As we will not gather together this year, I have filled individual boxes, instead of stockings, and mailed them to all family members. On Christmas Day, we will gather on Zoom and everyone will open their Christmas Boxes together.

May Day Flowers for Essential Workers
Members say Thank You to all Essential Workers by sharing May Day Flowers from their homes.
Dolley Madison Garden Club President, Carla Passarello, shared a fun and thoughtful project idea for May Day from Peggy Rust, President of FLGC in Zone VII, to create May Day baskets or arrangements for essential workers.
DMGC members created a few  and hung them to be enjoyed.
MEMBER SELFIES IN THE GARDEN
Stay at home orders are giving our members extra time to spend in their gardens.
Interesting gardening viewing - A member recommends spending time with English gardener, Monty Don. He has gardening tips and more on his website.  Monty Don.  Don is a leading UK garden writer and broadcaster, and produced several gardening series in countries such as Italy, Japan, and America.
