The Dolley Madison Club is active in the local community. Parks, community service and scholarships are some of the projects to which the Club devotes time and resources.
Taylor Park in the Town of Orange
Dolley Madison's Community Projects Committee oversees seasonal and general plantings in Taylor Park and consults with the Town of Orange on keeping the park visitor friendly. 2021 will be an exciting year for this showpiece urban park as Dolley Madison begins planning major landscape improvements featuring educational signage, new pollinator gardens and public gathering spaces. In an Olmsted-like vision, Taylor Park will serve as a gateway connecting visitors by walking trail with other community parks and Main Street. Pots and Gardens
Dolley Madison and the Orange Downtown Alliance are partners in beautifying the Town of Orange. Dolley Madison members and ODA members worked together to design and plant the winter seasonal pots that are visible throughout the Town of Orange this December. In addition to the pots, Dolley Madison' s projects include the Depot Garden in the Town of Orange, newly planted with native plants, and a Medicinal Garden in the Town of Gordonsville.
Boys and Girls Club of Orange County
Members volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Orange in activities ranging from helping children plant and harvest a raised bed vegetable garden to making Holiday Swags.
